Tyler Reddick & BKR Win in Daytona

Tyler Reddick (@TylerReddick), driver of the No. 19 Draw-Tite Ford F-150, grabbed his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 Friday night at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. Reddick won for the first time in 18 series races and in his second start at Daytona. He leads the series championship standings for the first time in his career by six points over Eric Jones.

Tyler qualified third and ran near the front of the pack throughout the 100 lap, 250 mile event. He and Ty Dillon traded the lead seven times during the first half of the race, running side by side for the majority of the first 50 laps. On lap 50 the complexion of the race changed thanks to a 12 truck pileup in Turn 3. The accident eliminated several strong contenders and gave Reddick's team an opportunity to pit for four tires and fuel.

Reddick pitted on lap 52 under yellow for four tires and restarted second alongside teammate Austin Theriault when the race went green on lap 58. The duo ran 1-2 until the fourth caution waved on lap 66. One lap later both teammates stopped for a splash of fuel with Reddick edging his teammate off pit road and taking the race lead.

From there Reddick never again surrendered the top spot, leading the final 33 laps despite two cautions and the subsequent nerve racking restarts. The sixth and final caution set up a six lap dash to the finish. Reddick and Theriault restarted at the front of the pack and stayed there until Turn 4 on the final lap when Scott Lagasse Jr. pulled alongside Theriault. The move created a four wide formation for second which allowed Reddick to drive away for the win.
